35mm Film Session

I picked up my first film camera almost exactly one year ago. I immediately fell in love with the whole process. The slow intentional capturing of each image, the winding of the film between each shutter, the unreal anticipation waiting for the film scans to arrive in my email…. I love it all.

This was my very first session shot completely on 35mm film. When you shoot with a digital camera, you get automatic feedback about the images. You can be 100% sure the photos are turning out the way you are intending them to. Taking a leap to shoot a session exclusively on film was scary.

This session was with my cousin, who shares a passion for 35mm film and super 8.

As soon as I got the email back from my favorite film developer, I texted my cousin “THEY PHOTOS ARE HERE!!” and I immediately sent over a few of the images.

We were both instantly smitten. Getting film back is such a rush. (Is it just me???) I’m ready to start offering these sessions for free just to keep experiencing the thrill of getting photos back that are a DREAM.
